U6 & U7/8 JR DERBYS PROGRAM
The program focuses on skill development and the FUNdamentals of the game for the participants, coaches and parents. The U6 & U7/8 Jr Derbys Program and its Rules and Regulations are all outlined in the "U7 CANADIAN PLAYER PATHWAY" information on the OHFs website or using the link.
Typically, U6s are made up of participants who are 4-years & 5-years old & U7s are made up of participants who are 5-years & 6-years old. However, it is possible to have either age in each category. Decisions for placement are determined through a simple evaluation process.
Hockey Canada announced mandatory ½ Ice Hockey for the U6 & U7/8 Program starting in the 2017-2018 season across all Minor Hockey Associations in the country. The U6/U7/8 Program provides children the opportunity to learn fundamental movement and fundamental sport skills in a quality sport program tailored just for them.

The Rookie Dogs - U6 – House League Lite -$300.00 if you register before July 1st, 2024. $325.00 if you register after July 1st, 2024 - Players born 2019/2020. U6 will cater to new to hockey players and will have 1 session per week. The focus will be on skill development with less time commitment.

The Intermediate Dogs - U7/8 – House League - $400.00 if you register before July 1st, 2024. $430.00 if you register after July 1st, 2024 – Players born in 2019/2018/2017. U7 House league will also focus on skill development with more game play. U7- House league will have 2 sessions a week. In December, teams will start playing cross ice games with referees.
