SHL Tentative 2025/2026 Schedule

**Please Note, below is our current tentative schedule as of August 14th, 2025.

Times/Days may change as we are still receiving registrations daily. Schedule will not be finalized until late September. 

We do not accept time or day request, all players will have their schedules for the entire season by start of the season. 

Season starts the week of September 28th, 2025 and will end the weekend of March 27th/28th/29 2026

No hockey will be played the following days:

Streetsville Tigers Day - December 7th, 2025

Christmas Break - Wednesday, December 24th - Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 (SHL resumes Sunday, January 4th, 2026)

Streetsville Derbys Winter Classic 2026 - Friday, January 23rd - Sunday, January 25th, 2026 (SHL resumes Monday, January 26th, 2026)

Family Day Weekend - Saturday, February 13th - Monday, February 16th, 2026 (SHL resumes Tuesday, February 17th, 2026

Spring Break - Saturday, March 14th - Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 (SHL resumes Monday, March 23rd, 2025)

U6-U9 Banquets will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2026

U10 - U18 Banquets to be held on Sunday, March 29th 2026 (Subject to change)

U6 - Starts Saturday October 4th, 2025 (Players Born in 2022/2021/2020)

Saturdays at 10am @ The Vic

**U6 will be 1 hour Hockey Fundamentals with a large emphasis on skating. Majority of our U6 players are brand new to Hockey. Cara Labute will be the lead instructor for our U6's, to view Cara's Bio, please scroll to the bottom 

U7/8 - Starts c(Players Born in 2020/2019/2018)

Saturdays at 11am & Sundays at 10am @ The Vic

**U7/8 will be 2X1 hour Hockey Fundamentals sessions per week with emphasis on skating, puck control, shooting, stopping and all areas of Hockey. Some of our U7 players are brand new to Hockey, so we will run skill development sessions until December. U9 - Starts Tuesday September 30th, 2025 (Players Born in 2018/2017)


Practices - Tuesdays at 5pm/545pm (Times Rotate) @ The Vic
Games - Saturdays at 12pm/1pm (Only once a week, times will depend on schedule)

U11 - Starts Thursday October 2nd, 2025 (Players Born in 2016/2015)

Practices - Thursdays at 5pm/6pm (Times Rotate) @ The Vic
Games - Primarily Saturday afternoons in the Mississauga Hockey League (Some games will be played at the Vic!)

***Please note, your house league evaluations are scheduled for Saturday, September 20th or Sunday September 21st, 2025 in the late afternoon/early evening. You will be contacted with evaluation times by September 17th, 2025

U13 - Starts Friday October 3rd, 2025 (Players Born in 2014/2013)

Practices - Fridays at 5pm/6pm (Times Rotate) @ The Vic
Games - Primarily 
Saturday afternoons in the Mississauga Hockey League (Some games will be played at the Vic!)

U15 - Start date is Saturday October 4th, 2025  (Players Born in 2012/2011)

Practices - Sundays at 6pm @ The Vic
Games - Primarily Saturday afternoons in the Mississauga Hockey League (Some games will be played at the Vic!)

U18 - Start date is Saturday October 4th, 2025 (Players Born in 2010/2009/2008)

Practices - Sundays at 8am @ The Vic
Games - Primarily Sunday Nights in the Mississauga Hockey League

Cara LaBute


Our U6 & U7 program is run by Cara LaBute who is a Professional Skating Instructor and has been teaching skating for over 25 years. She started skating at the age of 6 with the Credit Valley Skating Club which is now known as the Mississauga Skating Club. She was a competitive figure skater with the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club, completing her Gold levels in figures and free skate.

Cara is a Certified level 1 instructor with the CFSA, which is now known as Skate Canada, as well as an NCCP level 1 instructor.

Cara has also been teaching pre-school, junior, intermediate and adult skating skills with the City of Mississauga for over 15 years.  She has helped develop hockey players in all age groups ranging from house league to AAA.

Cara has been teaching for 14 seasons with Mississauga Ringette LTS/ FUN program. Cara has been working with the Streetsville Hockey League, focusing her time with our house league and rep teams. She develops power skating and fundamental skating plans that forces on all skating skills. Cara has her First aid, as well as her High Five Certification. High Five is a Canadian quality standard for children’s recreation sport, wellbeing and healthy development for ages 6-12. Cara has also completed the Jumpstart Inclusive Play Leadership Certificate, Competency Based Educational Training with GTHL Canada, as well as other city courses such as Respectful Workplace Training, Bullying etc.

Cara and her team are a major asset to the Vic Johnston Community Center.
